Before Chicago impresario Chez Damier was scheduled for a New Year’s Day gig at home for Queen!, frequent collaborator (and protege on the Inner Balance sublabel) Jorge Caiado brought to my attention this fantastic new release scheduled up on Hizou.
Keeping the Legacy Volume 2 has a youngblood/pioneer theme as you might expect but is rare in terms of the quality of releases here. Abacus and Chez Damier’s “Closer” get loved up by Caiado. The whole project is an eyeopener, loaded with the kind of music declaring a clear lineage from Chicago but a sound which you can frankly most often hear abroad.
