Pat Lok turns a lovely pop ditty into a UKG heart attack on this forthcoming single from Human Touch Records. Lowly Light clocked and Liset delivered a stunning vocal on the original mix of “Find A Way” released last fall. Liset Alea was one of the vocalists of Nouvelle Vague, who debuted their highly mellow aesthetic on Peacefrog back in the aughts, and you’ve likely heard her in a billion places since then.

The original is a pop song dosed with positive vibes and peptides and Pat Lok does something deviant with it. In his flip, “Find A Way” becomes a straight-from-’99-or-at-least-’07 UK Garage-turned-bass music shakedown. Lok’s remix chews up the riffs and Liset’s polished vocals and rearranging the pieces like a demented jigsaw puzzle. The result is hard to beat: drops, fat-as-fuck bass and vocals that plunge down to the depths and emerge like an angelic chorus. Holding the whole thing together is a sleek and stomping groove, returning again and again in perfect time.
