One of my favourite young labels of recent times, Ibiza’s Be Adult Music has been quietly releasing wonderful, smooth Deep House and Electronica with a distinctly Balearic feel for a little over a year now. Owned and operated by local hero Alex Kentucky, the label’s latest outing contains just one single track by unknown Polish producer Luqe (Lukas Krakowaik to his mom).
The aptly titled “Balearia” simply shimmers like a heat-haze. As the record slinks towards it’s acoustic guitar-laden climax, it’s all too easy to imagine for a moment the sun on your back and that faint taste of sea-salt on your lips, even on a gray autumn day in Chicago (or on a smelly train in London, which is where I find myself as I write this). If you find yourself in need of some Vitamin D this winter and don’t want to risk skin damage under a sun lamp, grab yourself a copy of “Balaeria” – it’ll make you feel just as sexy (and it won’t turn you orange).
