Spiritual Emphasi (sic) is one of the aliases of St. David, the Italian producer behind Theory of Swing Records. Spiritual Emphasi is dusted off mostly but not entirely for releases on Cosmic Rhythm, starting with 2017’s Spiritualism EP.
His next EP for the label, Feel the Magic is a record rooted in the sound that we crave — it’s deep house in the key of Chez, music that’s rich in soul and deeply informed by all the soul music that came before it.
“Feel The Magic” coasts along with a small orchestra of brass and winds and strings leaving their signature behind. “Atmosphera” works from the same sound palette, starting with woodwinds and progressing into a dazzling little solo with what sounds like a synthesized trumpet. All along, Davide’s music carries you on full wings. This is deep house how God intended it.
