Well damn, I wasn’t expecting disco from Johnny Fiasco, but disco is what you get in a single that looks back to the big chorus of a 1980 hit by Mystic Merlin. After listening for a couple of minutes, I realized this is Porno Gold! – the kind of stylized, neo-Disco they’d use in a Hollywood documentary about Debbie Does Dallas or something from the golden age of ’70s porn. It cleans up well but captures the vibe just perfectly – even better, in fact, than the original. There’s one remix, and Paul Youx slows the tempo down and adds a fat stomp on the bottom of the beat.
