Detroit deep house maestro Rick Wade takes over 5 Mag’s cover mix with a set of lush, deep transmissions.
Rick Wade is one of the few electronic music producers who deserves the honorific title of “maestro.” Listening to his music unlocks vibes, sensations, triggered by a deep knowledge of music that is impossible to reproduce without doing the work. The same, I think, goes for his DJ sets.
This mix series, Sanctify, was created with a sound like Rick Wade’s in mind: warm, analog-sounding deep house. “Late Night Basix” could be an alternate title. Though we started with others, Rick Wade drew the blueprint for this.
