The last hurrah of the big music festivals in Chicago for 2016 will of course be North Coast Music Festival. Scheduled for Labor Day Weekend (Friday September 2nd through Sunday September 4th 2016) in Union Park, it never fails to impress with its wide variety of Electronic, Hip-Hop, Pop and jam bands.
What we really really love about North Coast is their awesome, oasis-in-the-middle-of-a-desert, fully air-conditioned Heineken House Dome. Debuted last year, it was the perfect sanctuary for those who not only wanted to cool off, but who also opted to get a serious House groove on. Complete with screens, nightclub lighting and its own bar, I think we at 5 Magazine camped our butts in this tent for about 90% of the festival.
This year’s House representatives include (in alphabetical order) Alan King, Bucky Fargo & Marea, Czboogie, DJ Hyperactive, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Gant Man, Golf Clap, Jesse Saunders, Kastle, LP Giobbi, Mia Wallace, Thibault, Tim Zawada, Translucent, Walker & Royce, Wayne Williams and Zebo.
