For an artist who confesses he’s “always been obsessed with America,” it is hard to believe Mark Seven has never played in Chicago before.
The UK-born but now Stockholm-based DJ, artist and renown crate digger and seller operates Parkway Records and in his guise as Parkway Rhythm, noted for a devotion to the sounds of Jersey Garage, funky quasi-post-disco and classic Chicago raw tracks. Frequently dubbed a “cult DJ” or “DJ’s DJ,” Mark Seven will be making his Chicago debut as the special guest of a new event series in Chicago called In Real Life. IRL, presented by Jake Stellarwell, will launch will be at Elastic Arts (3429 W Diversey #208) on April 19 2019 with support from Jake, Jesse Sandwich and Alex G, plus Sotol (live).
