Mayor Steve Adler of Austin, Texas has declared October 20th “J.A.M.O.N., Godfather of Austin House Day,” honoring the late DJ, vocalist and producer who made that city his home.

Adler’s proclamation was made Thursday, according to the Austin Statesman, which notes that Jamon’s father Apostle John Horne was accepting the proclamation at City Hall.

J.A.M.O.N., the stage name of Jamon Jaleki Horne, passed away on March 6 after two and a half years of battling with cancer.
