Chicago House Doc Thee Debauchery Ball Launches with 14 Days of Virtual Afterparties

A new film shining a spotlight on the intersection of Black lives, body positivity and house music is launching this week followed by two weeks and more than 30 DJs playing “virtual afterparties.”

Directed by David Weathersby, Thee Debauchery Ball is an award winning film celebrating “Black lives, freedom, sexuality and house music.” Awarded Best Film at the Southside Chicago Film Festival, Thee Debauchery Ball “celebrates Chicago’s large and thriving Afrocentric house music scene” with a focus on the bi-annual party and the people who find freedom and community there.

The Video-On-Demand release by ImageNation’s Sōl Cinema Cafe will be accompanied by 14 days of virtual afterparties on Instagram Live. #BeDebaucherous will feature a total of more than 30 house DJs from Chicago to South Africa and a few stops in between from June 12 to June 25, 9pm to 11pm EST, with day parties on June 14, 16, 17, 18 from 3pm to 5pm EST.
