It has been awhile since we’ve seen Dennis Ferrer. Or anyone. This whole mid-post-pandemic experience is one of lost connections, of people who frequently dropped into your life but then drifted away. If we’re lucky they’re still there, waiting for just the right moment to restore contact.
One of dance music’s most highly regarded producers, Dennis Ferrer has long been a friend of 5 Mag, appearing on the cover of our 2nd anniversary issue back in 2007 (with its reference to “Touch the Sky” appearing on “every DJs’ mix CD recently. My goodness.) and in several more cover stories since then.
Dennis Ferrer is returning to Chicago this Friday night as Lollapalooza’s crowds rage through the streets in search of a sub-$10 beer. You can see him at Spybar (646 N. Franklin, Chicago). Doors open at 10pm and tickets are available via dice.fm.
