Chicago has lost another unique music venue last night as East Room has closed its doors.
The 4am lounge held its final Friday, Saturday and Sunday night events this past holiday weekend after six years in Logan Square.
“Thank you for 6 years Chicago!” a post on Twitter November 22 announced. “East Room will be closing our doors 12/1 and making way for something new. Until then we’ll be celebrating with friends!”

According to Eater Chicago, East Room’s Zack Eastman is “in the process of buying the space with a new team of investors” and will make an announcement in “about a month.”
East Room hosted a huge number of noteworthy events, but maybe more importantly they also gave a shot to quite a few promoters trying new things for Chicago’s nightlife scene. Just off the top of our heads there was Redux’s Blender, the Housepitality “Housepit CHI” event transplanted from San Francisco and 5 Mag even held a movie screening there for the UK Garage documentary Rewind 4ever.
