Chicago house music legend Farley Jackmaster Funk has written a new anthem for the Chicago Bears on the heels of the team’s resurgence among the cream of the NFL.
Farley debuted the track “We Are Da Bears” for Chicago ABC affiliate ABC7 last Friday, before the Bears’ dramatic wild card playoff win over Green Bay on Saturday.
ABC7 anchor Hosea Sanders visited Farley’s “mobile studio” (a behemoth equipped with LEDs):
“Being a lifelong Bear fan, and them playing with my emotions, it’s one of those things. Man, we’re back!! This one… is for the fans, this song here is the stadium rock where everybody stands up… So I’ve created something that all our fans can. We can be on one accord together and cheer for our team.”
ABC7 says that a video for Farley’s “We Are Da Bears” will soon be available “on a website,” and that part of the proceeds will go to charity.
