Sit down, pour a drink, rest your neck and get comfortable, because there are 34 tracks on Andrew Emil’s S&S Sessions, dropped today, and you’re going to want to listen to most of them.

The Chicago producer has teamed up with the Chicago label started by Steve “Silk” Hurley and DJ Skip for a compilation of Emil’s remixes from the S&S Records catalog.

Among the tracks here are several that have never been released before, including “Wouldn’t You Like To Ride” by Malik Yusef featuring Kanye West, Common and JV (the original handed to me as a single by DJ Skip years ago when we were picking up copies of their Chicago house history documentary on DVD). Other remixes of note here include Syleena Johnson’s version of “Peace Pipe,” six remixes of “I Need To Go Away” by Tommye and Relief Records cult figure Jump Chico Slamm.

Andrew Emil: The S&S Sessions was released today (May 13 2021) and is available from Traxsource.
