Jeff Mills’ Axis Records has announced a new vinyl/limited CD series from the label’s back catalog.
Six vinyl EPs and a CD compilation will be released this year as part of the “Director’s Cut” series featuring “special unreleased versions as well as iconic tracks that made the label what it is today.” All tracks are remastered as 44k24bit recordings and wax pressed on 180 gram vinyl.
The first record, Chapter 1, is out now and features “Suspense (unreleased version)” (Drama EP, 1993), “Gamma Player” (Humana EP, 1995), “Transformation B (Rotwang’s Revenge)” (Metropolis EP, 2000) and “Hydra and Synergy” (Exhibisionist 2 DVD, 2015).
“The Director’s Cut reissue project is about manicuring detail,” Mills said in a release. “It’s about a rare opportunity to enhance what we’ve done so that the relationship strengthens for the long term.”
Chapter 1 is available now from Axis Records.
