Reissue house Strut is planning to release the “first definitive retrospective” of iconic jazz, soul and disco vocalist Patrice Rushen this summer.
You Remind Me (The Classic Elektra Recordings 1978-1984) will be released in a triple vinyl set and on CD and features early classics from the singer’s Elektra and Asylum recordings. The “sophisticated dance music” of the era is represented by iconic tracks including “Forget Me Nots” (12″ version), “Never Gonna Give You Up (Won’t Let You Be)” and “Settle For My Love.”
“‘Remind Me’ features all of Patrice Rushen’s chart singles, 12″ versions and popular sample sources on one album for the first time,” Strut says in a release. The tracks are “fully remastered” by The Carvery from the original tapes.
