Heavy action rave anthems from Semi Delicious and Tessellate, mashed together here with a minimum of grace as “Tessalicious.” These two have pushed a huge number of dope tracks down your gullet over the last five or six years; from my own collection I can point to Subb-An’s “Wobble” and the V/A “Love State” featuring Swoose’s “Re/Vision” and Dukwa’s “Tangled” both from Semi Delicious, and Tessellate’s retro-futuristic “Keep Rocking” by Papa Nugs & The Trip. Most of it is vinyl-only, though Don’t Go Away at least has a digital component on Bandcamp and it’s a hell of a journey.

“Don’t Go Away” lures you in with drums you’ve heard a thousand times that lead into a squishy bassline that you haven’t and is going to force you to do some kind of kinetic activity. Kinetic is the best term to bring this idea across: it’s every rave tape smashed together until something horrific and beautiful comes out of the deck. A tapehead MC punches the air every time there’s a hit and there are a lot of hits, and a build that’s as expected as it is exhilarating. “Rock The House” rubs a little Lady Kier into the mix just in case you wanted to guess where this is going by where it’s coming from. Irresistible party music.
