Giorgio Luceri

There’s much to love about Giorgio Luceri’s warm 12″ on the London-based Fly By Night Music. Luceri is still a pretty young guy, but already has a solid LP and a spectacular EP on Chicago’s Mathematics run by Jamal Moss (one of a small handful of guys in this town that still really gives a fuck about A&R). Exquisitely produced, the title track features a serpentine, evolving synth line that plays out in the manner of a trumpet player in a jam session, trying out different approaches and all the while enjoying the noise he’s making. The musicality of this is breathtaking. “Woman” is much heavier, and benefits from a rare but nearly perfect remix from Atlanta’s Kai Alce.
