Slinky, soulful and sonorous, “Knee Deep” is the stand-out track on Transitions, the latest EP from Ivaylo’s Bogota and courtesy of veteran producer Magnus Asberg (half of C-Soul with James Day way back when). Every new EP I hear lately seems to be infected with a tinny, techy sound, but there’s a kind of purity to these tracks that radiates from the waveform. I’m a sucker for minimal hooks and as far as minimal hooks go “Knee Deep” is more infectious than the walls of the Blue Line EL platforms. Ivaylo’s own remix is spirited deep house with a glistening cavalcade of beats. This was wonderfully done all around.
