Frankie Knuckles Day is this Saturday, August 25 2018, and that will be the day for the unveiling of the Frankie Knuckles Mural, relocated to its new permanent home.

The unveiling will take place at 815 W. Hubbard Street in Chicago at an official Frankie Knuckles Day celebration, honoring his cultural legacy through art and music.

The event is free, and open to all.

Painted in the days following the death of Frankie Knuckles, Chicago DJ Michael Tupak with artists from the Artistic Bombing Crew came together and painted a gorgeous mural to the Frankie. The owner of the building was forced to destroy the mural some months later to necessitate building repairs, leading to a long process to find a new home which will culminate this Saturday.

See you there!
