Sticky Jams from PBR Streetgang: Late Night Party Line

PBR Streetgang's first single from their forthcoming album is a sleazy late night banger that's somehow both a throwback and a modern minimal house jam.

It feels like a man with sticky, wet palms giving you an overeager handshake. Late Night Party Line, PBR Streetgang’s first single from their forthcoming album is a sleazy late night banger that’s somehow both a throwback and a modern minimal house jam. The sparse, rattling percussion of “Late Night Party Line” sounds like the last gasp of an 808 held together with duct tape and Cheez Whiz; it could power a b-side or cult hit from any of a number of Chicago House legends (I keep hearing Tyree Cooper’s bassline from “Acid Crash”). Suspended overhead is an overheated diva-style vocal – throaty but not lewd, it lifts this track out of the pack of curios into the must-buy category. If their forthcoming album is anything like the rest of this, PBR Streetgang is going to be in your head in 2018.
