The West Town Chamber of Commerce has announced the dates and line-up for the 2019 West Fest Chicago and West Fest Chicago House DJ stage. The annual summer street festival (begun in 2004) takes place on Chicago Avenue between Damen Avenue and Wood Street.

The West Fest DJ Stage showcases “high profile local, national and international DJs with an emphasis on Chicago House.” Heading the West Fest DJ Stage for 2019 are Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Alinka, DJ Lady D, Jevon Jackson, The Sound Republic (no really?), DJ Jes, Diz, Iz, DJ Heather, John Simmons, T Mixwell, Karl & Mark Almaria, EchoDroides, Phantom 45, Intel, Hiroki, Striz, Andrew Emil and Justin Reed.

The Main Stage this year is presented by Empty Bottle and features music from Los Campesinos, John Maus, Ex Hex, Boy Harsher, Pixel Grip and more.

West Fest begins Friday, July 5th at 5pm and continues through Independence Day Weekend on Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 7 from noon to 10pm.

West Fest this year will also feature two “specialty” fests – Kid Fest (Saturday and Sunday, 12pm to 7pm) on Wolcott Street (with pony rides!) and Pet Fest (12pm-6pm Saturday and Sunday) sponsored by Canine Crews and featuring obstacle courses, paw painting, paddling pools and more. Proceeds benefit Alive Rescue and One Tail at a Time, and goodie bags for those humans whom donate or purchase.
