It’s happening around the country and now “purple fever” is coming to Chicago too.
The famed Brew and View at The Vic Theatre (3145 N. Sheffield Avenue) is playing Prince’s seminal musical for everyone who wants to see Purple Rain in Chicago, playing for three nights this weekend starting Friday night at 7pm.
“Celebrate the life of the extraordinary artist PRINCE, with a screening of the 1984 classic PURPLE RAIN at Brew & View!” a release states. They’re also encouraging fans to wear purple.
There are other Prince-related events being organized – some spontaneously, some at least semi-officially sanctioned by city officials – around Chicago. Also coming up on Friday is A Night of a Thousand Princes, a “Prince walk” in Wicker Park.
