Legendary Detroit Techno producer Suburban Knight releasing new 7″ single

Following up on the release of his first vinyl EP in a decade, James Pennington aka Suburban Knight will be releasing a new 7″ single.

“Listening Systems” will be released in a limited “collectors only” edition of 150 copies on yellow vinyl by Detroit Techno Records. A third of the vinyl pressing will be autographed and sold exclusively through Detroit Techno Records’ bandcamp page. Preorders for those are available now.

Suburban Knight has been a fixture in Detroit’s techno scene since there was a Detroit techno scene. He released far fewer records than most of his peers but nearly every one was a milestone, including “The Art of Stalking,” “The Groove,” co-authorship of Inner City’s “Big Fun,” and one of the best Underground Resistance projects ever with “Nocturbulous Behavior.”
