5 Years and 21 Tracks of Deep & Disco

A marvelous catalog of music compiled over 5 years of Deep & Disco's reign.

A marvelous catalog of music here in a two volume set covering both sides of Deep & Disco’s namesake and a whole lot more in the margins.

Some of the label’s best releases are on part one – “Deep Cuts” – including thatmanmonkz’s soulful rendition of JKriv and Adeline Michele’s “Another Night,” the late Ethan White’s swingin’ version of the same and Scott Wozniak’s remix of The Right Now’s “Call Girl.” Volume Two drops this week and features some phenomenal work from Greg Wilson, Kraak & Smaak and Moon Boots‘ cataclysmically low-slung rendition of Monsoon Season’s “Green On Blue.” Deep & Disco is one of the labels that cheers me up – that there are people who get musicality, who get songwriting and yet lead by creating exemplars of both rather than being stuck in a murky nostalgia.
