A new track from Escort just dropped amid news of the disco and dance music outfit’s forthcoming album.
“City Life” is the lead single and title track from Escort’s third album, City Life, which will be released on April 12.
“‘City Life’ is an homage to all things NYC, written by me, Adeline and Eugene [Cho] and featuring Nicki B on lead vocals and the legendary FONDA RAE on the hook,” bassist JKriv wrote on Facebook. “I got to stretch a bit on bass on this one too.”
The album features the debut of new vocalist Nicki B (taking over from Adeline Michele, who still appears on a few tracks), plus guests including, most notably, Fonda Rae and flautist, keyboardist, and vocalist Brian Jackson, best known for his legendary recordings with Gil Scott-Heron.
City Life also coincides with Escort returning to the road for a series of dates across America starting April 17. Their tour launches in Brooklyn at Elsewhere, continuing through Washington, Denver, Boulder, Seattle, Vancouver, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and the Electric Forest festival in Michigan in late June.
