One of the best-known, best-selling and most essential juke tracks of the ’00s appears for the first time on vinyl. Break Yo Back is a six track EP from DJ Spinn, and five of the tracks are new, but it’s “Bounce N Break Yo Back” that’s the star of the show.

Nearly twenty years after its debut, “Bounce N Break Yo Back” can still snatch the oxygen out of the room. First appearing on the 2007 Juke City Volume 1 compilation on Gant-Man’s Bang Tha Box Recordingz, “Bounce” stood out on a V/A full of stand-outs including Nehpets, Rashad, Gant, Bobby Skillz and Traxman. I don’t know if it’s been remastered but it sounds the same to my ears, with one of the best Chicago juke DJs showing why he’s one of the best on the mic as well.

This is an essential, a classic and it’s still an electrifying trip eighteen years later.

There’s more: Teklife gathered five other tracks to pair with it. They’re all new and range from the steely “Bootydoo,” “Break Yo Back” (not the same) and a juke / DnB / bass music crossover stomp called “Already” that closes it out.
