DJ Steaw Holding On Ron Trent Remix album art

DJ Steaw has emerged from the French underground as a highly regarded producer, with close-to-classic recordings on his Rutilance, Hot Haus, Madhouse and Local Talk. He reaches back to 2012 for “Holding On.” Originally released on the Rhubarbe EP from Phonogramme, the spacey vibes of the original are remixed in this special edition by Ron Trent. The vocals float like a vibrant violet haze through the speakers, left to right and back again as icy keys twinkle. It’s a word that’s overused, but it is a word that’s most appropriate: it’s beautiful.

On the B-side are two DJ Steaw originals, with the ’90s clubby “Mystical Rhythm” as the choice cut.
