You never know what a Leonid Nevermind record is going to sound like but you know it’s going to be dope. Leonid revisits his track “Use The Moon,” the highlight of the 2012 V/A EP Earth Tones Vol 3 from Soul People Music. I don’t know if it’s been remastered or if the grooves were flattened out in my memory but the title track sounds deeper, richer and more vibrant, like a photo filter passed over a quilt of green fields and the sun.

Much love for the Canvo Remix of “Use The Moon,” which manages to nudge the notoriously leftfield Leonid Nevermind slightly onto the straight and narrow before going totally off he rails on its own. Voices hum in your ear, a sax plays a puzzling little riff and the drums drop out totally and take their time coming back into play. “Why Don’t You” is another revelation from one of our most revelatory producers.
