One of David Mancuso’s Loft classics and “a major influence for DJs such as Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles and Kenny Dope,” “Rude Movements” has an immaculate pedigree, regarded as among the foundational records of the electronic music scene during the 1980s. BBE licensed and reissued “Rude Movements” in 2016 (two years before original producer Mike Collins’ passing), followed by a set of 2020 remixes by Moodymann & Kenny Dope and now a double 12″ package featuring many of the songs’ admirers from the past, including François K (featuring Eric Kupper on keys), Frankie Feliciano, OPOLOPO, original and extended versions of Moodymann and Kenny Dope’s remixes, plus a new one from Kenny, two DJ tools and a special edit by the late Phil Asher. This is a touchstone release of an iconic record, the physical sold out instantly but you can still scrape up some copies or pick it up digitally if you want it.
