I hit play, and then the flash player choked, and then I hunted this thing down and smashed the buy button because what I’d just experienced sounded like the most subversive fucking thing I’ve ever heard.

I don’t know what’s going on in Russia right now but it’s like a second Construstivist explosion there, an electronic music renaissance and cauldron of activity and influence. And like some of the musical scenes of the past, there isn’t much that binds these folks together other than a wild creativity and an invigorating taste for daredevil experimentation.

Forever Punk is just a phenomenal EP, four tracks of smoldering electronics and swagger. The sound is rough, drowning in acid and distorted hip hop animated by a bassline that’s barely been tamed. If I sound like a man who just witnessed a car crash, a bank robbery and a motorcycle stunt – I think I have. I don’t know if these guys are the future of anything but they’re the future of something.
