I like these guys. youANDme drop a sleazy fuzz bomb on Nervous Records – a split recording with no remixes and no filler. With a swing of chords and bouncy beats, “About You” has that kind of East Coast grime to it, hearkening back to an era when New York was dirty and Times Square was where you lost your innocence rather than gained a wraparound branded paper bag of baubles. Tim Toh does the exhausted vocals – best known for records on Philpot and Ornaments, he’s found a new calling here in delivering demented vocals over carnival music of the damned.

“Listen To” goes headfirst down the rabbit hole – blissfully mental, a high octane trip through roustabout towns and metal canyons, like an overstimulated seven year old prodigy alternately playing a Korg keyboard and throwing it against the wall. Both tracks are united by a slightly seedy, leering aesthetic that is hard to put your finger on but fun as hell to dance to.
