His sound? His sound is like a freight train driving through the church door. That might have first been said about one of the original legends of Motown but it’s a distinctly appropriate way to describe the sound of Detroit Techno pioneer Eddie Fowlkes.

A DJ since 1978, a producer since 1986, Eddie’s fingerprints are all over the history of electronic music (and his handprints are in the Detroit Historical Museum’s “Legends Plaza”.) You can always tell a born DJ by the way they express themselves through records, and this certainly applies to Eddie Fowlkes and his “Techno Soul” sound, which he describes as “a mesh of Detroit Techno, Chicago House, Parliament, 70s Funk, and Motown.”

We’re pleased to present a new set from Eddie Fowlkes for our latest 5 Mag Mix ✌️
