There are a ton of tapes that circulated in the early 1990s, all recorded at and pointing to a location known mysteriously (to those not in Braintree anyway) as the Barn.

This is one of our favorites, from Detroit Techno godfather Derrick May recorded – is my math right?! twenty-seven years ago?! – on August 24, 1989.

  1. Great, thanks for this – I think this is 1990 going by the tracklisting, not 1989 – Carlton, DNA, DJ Mink and GTO were all released in spring/summer 1990, would be surprising if even Derrick May had access to all four of these tunes a whole year before they were released!
