Marcel Vogel (Lumberjacks in Hell, Intimate Friends) mixes volume 179 of New Mix Monday, 5 Magazine’s weekly House Music guest mix series.
Marcel Vogel describes himself as a “bearded lumberjack from rural Germany chopping soulful tunes as a profession”. Many of them are released on his Lumberjacks in Hell label, described in the August issue of 5 Magazine as the best Chicago label not physically located in Chicago. And to make that comprehensible, you have to take a look at their back catalog, which includes Hugo H, Jamie 3:26 and an all-star, all-Chicago line-up on their latest cut, the double 12″ vinyl Chicago Service.
Marcel has another great record out as well – a 7″ cover of “Body To Body” on Intimate Friends, featuring mixes from Jordan (Juju & Jordash) and Manchester’s Ruff Dug.
