One of the foundational moments in American electronic music history took place 32 years ago this month at a famed location equidistant from Chicago, Milwaukee and Minneapolis and dubbed “Somewhere, Wisconsin.”

Started in 1994 and featuring an all-star lineup headlined by Aphex Twin, Furthur — named after the Merry Prankster bus driven by Neal Cassady — will be returning this Labor Day weekend (September 4 through 7, 2026).

Famed promoters Drop Bass Network announced this year’s dates and limited advanced tickets available prior to the lineup and location announcement due May 29. RV/Car camping “add-ons” are also available.

The ever-evolving festival arrives in a new iteration this year, according to Drop Bass:

“Since covid we’ve been doing A Kult Weekenders at our Kompound in place of Furthur. If we learned anything it’s that the real magic happens when djs play long sets in a more intimate setting. For the return of Furthur we decided to drop the “Even” from the name and focus on a smaller, core festival that aligns better with our goals, at a price point as low as we could afford to make it.”
