I came for Ashley Beedle and discovered one of the most phenomenal EPs I’ve heard in 2018.

Glenn Davis is an Irish DJ and producer with a preternatural gift for making dance music inject with soul. His debut release Body & Soul may as well be a tribute to the spirit and vibe of the eponymous New York City party – I doubt it is but classic NYC vibes were all I heard on this one. I’ve never been fond of making this claim but as the title track unwound, the first thing I thought was that I could completely hear this as the bedrock of a Frankie Knuckles birthday set at Boom Boom Room.

The aforementioned Ashley Beedle gives it a kick of beautiful bass and teases that irresistible groove so well – it’s just shameless in catering to a dancefloor’s primal desires. All four tracks are glittering gems. Everything you think of that represents the best of house music – it’s right here.
