Dance music legend Paul “Trouble” Anderson has been struck by a recurrence of cancer and is recovering from emergency surgery ahead of ongoing treatment.

A GoFundMe has been set up on Paul’s behalf to help support him in his fight.

Paul was first diagnosed with cancer in his left lung 7 years ago. The disease was in remission after a major operation. After feeling unwell, Paul’s doctors made the discovery that cancerous tumors had returned to his right lung and brain.

The latest recurrence has already resulted in an emergency operation both to excise the cancer and reduce pressure and swelling on the brain. According to his supporters, this will be followed by “a course of radiotherapy. Paul now needs to seek ongoing treatment with a specialist neuro-oncology team, as well as to ensure expert aftercare, physio and rehabilitation outside of the NHS. We are aiming to raise as much as possible in order to fund his healthcare.”

“Needless to say Paul may not be able to appear at most if not all of his scheduled performances. However, he is determined to try and pre-record his regular Saturday show on Mi-Soul Radio to keep the good vibes flowing.”

At the time of writing supporters were just past halfway to the £30,000 goal.

5 Mag last featured an interview and mix with Paul for our 5 Mag Mix series last year.
