Mate, a vinyl exclusive label from Spain, will return in two weeks’ time with their fifth overall release and second from Detroit deep house maestro Javonntte.
Black & White is the title of a split EP featuring two tracks from Javonntte and two from Simón García (Poker Flat, Pets), aka The Blaxploited Orchestra. Mate had launched a year ago with the first of a three part series called From Detroit To Madrid, Volume 1 featuring a split between Javonntte and Jesus Gonsev. Their most recent record was Lost & Found, a four track EP from Chicago’s Garrett David.
“Quantom” is a whole new sound for the insanely prolific Detroit producer, weaving the sounds of the global south with soul-drenched vocals and the always on-point Javonntte drums. “Mr. DJ” however will probably get more attention from his peers.
