A new V/A and a new series from the old hands at Molecular. These four tracks from Esilum, Heliosphere, Shaun Moses and Azogiar mark the first installment of the Covalence Series, a “curated collection of molecular-level sound works, where artists from diverse backgrounds converge to form new sonic bonds.”
“Each edition explores the subtle forces that connect frequencies, textures, and minds — revealing the deep interplay between structure and emotion, precision and atmosphere.”
I don’t know if you’ll pick up on that but you will get four tracks of superb and sometimes spectacular modern techno. Esilum leads off with the galloping “Neon Surge,” followed by Helisphere’s dark and twitch “Abyss.” Shaun Moses contributes the dramatic and somewhat demented techno fusion of “Groove Medication.” Closing it out is a track from Azogiar, “Heartbreaking,” a hectic slab of techno that swings wildly but feels so precise that every hit could have plotted on graph paper. Molecular never misses and drives this one far.
