There’s a lot to love right here, as three heroes of the underground throw lots together for a surprisingly smooth three track EP.
Four Walls is Mikhail Shvaikousky of Belarus, who makes music like he learned at the right hand of some disco godfather in a Rust Belt afterhours sweatbox. One time Detroit resident Kai Alce is himself here on a blistering remix and it’s our friend Samann of Italian Deep House imprint Traxx Underground that tied the whole thing together.
Four Walls’ second record on Traxx Underground (the first was 2013’s You Know Me) begins with the deep and soulful “Go On And Take.” A steady surge of energy growing from the first moment, channeled in latin percussion and short vocals and chants. “Live On Easy Street” hits the vein, though – particular Kai Alce’s melodic and sometimes even immaculate remix. This is right up there with one of Traxx Underground’s finest records, one of the best records of the month and one of the best I’ve heard so far in 2016.
