There’s no connecting thread between the 13 tracks on Re-Vibrations, though Good Vibrations’ Sean McCabe is involved as producer or remixer on 11 of them. But you’ll find plenty to pick from in this spread of mostly soulful house productions from the circle of Bristol-based Sean McCabe, house guests and friends. Some of these appeared on a Record Store Day 2019 release, with some additional exclusive remixes from Karizma, broken beat godfather IG Culture and others.
First in class is the tireless Jovonn’s remix of “It’s My Life” – a deep, dubby and energetic affair. Another standout is IG Culture’s bassline freak edit of the McCabe and Mike City record “I Know Someone,” and, from a completely different direction, Karizma’s gorgeous dub of “Now Is The Time.” The more I listened the more I loved this one – it’s a must-have track.
