Mile High remixes album artwork

Thirty Year Records’ stated goal is to find “tracks that will sound good in 30 years.” Mission accomplished. The legendary Paris Brightledge is at the center of “Mile High,” the track which was in turn the centerpiece of a 2019 EP of the same name. Three remixers seal the deal on this amazing remix EP originally scheduled for release “sometime” in 2021 (when you’re measuring time in 30 year increments, what’s the matter with another month or two?)

Interstate chops it up with a moody and soulful 2step mix alive with breathy vocals and a really warm vibe. Okayama’s Keita Sano delivers an ethereal, almost disembodied deep mix. Closing it out is one of my favorite producers in the world, from the time that Soul Foundation brought him to Chicago and virtually shamed us into turning out a feature interview and DJ mix from him — Deep Explorer’s Dubbyman. He lives up to his name with a spaced out mix that verges into the realm of biochemical psychedelia. There’s also an original track jackknifed into here, a vibing funk monster called “You Don’t Know.” Huge record — good taste never goes out of style.
