C’mon! Yes indeed: this is a track that’s demanding you jump on board to take you on a trip somewhere wonderful. “Ancestral” is 11 and a half minutes and could have been 20. I love these kinds of jam tracks – give me a drum loop and an organ solo and I’ll get stoned off the shit. “Ancestral” gives you time to reach that fever pitch – a lost time sequence and you’re suddenly surrounded by vibes that have been tapping on glass forever, graceful amidst swirling Afro/Latin percussion and a ghost of a bassline.
This was a collaboration between Mike Clark and Luyo and I think you’re going to be hard pressed not to ask for an encore from ’em.
