Veteran of Chicago house’s golden age (a few golden ages, actually) Jevon Jackson is surfacing with a two track EP of stripped down and manically addictive house music for Chicago’s Fresh Meat Records.

Epic in scope and made for selectors to mix into, out of, and back into again, “Fade” and “Turnin'” mark Jevon’s label debut on Fresh Meat Records. Clocking in at a shade under 10 minutes long, “Fade” has that mechanical jackin’ vibe that is easy to dupe’n’loop but very hard to turn into a serviceable track, much less one that takes you on a journey like this. “Turnin'” swipes out the electronic haze for sparse, chords, glistening hi hats and chopped up vocal clips.

Jevon Jackson is a source of local pride and Fade/Turnin’ represents the best of everything in the Chicago tradition. It’s out this week and your crate is hungry for this one: two tracks, four bucks on Bandcamp.
