Congratulations! You just celebrated your 15th anniversary with your lovely wife Solara! You are both quite the power couple in music. How did you celebrate?

Thank you, you are too kind. We really wanted to get outta town here in LA and have a proper vacation / anniversary, but couldn’t decide on a final destination, so we opted for a ‘staycation’ instead. We hit quite a few local spots that we’ve been wanting to check out for some time. And there was def some down, chill time. It was great. I’m one lucky man. She is an AMAZING woman. The vacation will come later this year (Otherwise I’m a dead man – lol!!).

This awesome mix you have for us…what were you thinking about when you put these songs together?

Glad you liked it. I simply wanted to take folks on a mini journey and spray it around stylistically to a few different subgenres of House (a lil’ deep, some soulful, a smidgen of tech, a bit of afro and a few classic edits of mine).

Thank you for sending me those tunes dedicated to Frankie’s memory. I know you had a special place in his heart. What was some of the work you did with him?

My pleasure. I knew you’d appreciate them 😉 He was a special man. I feel extraordinarily lucky to have worked with him, for him and to also get to know him on a personal level. My ex partner and I did 3 remixes for him (“Matter Of Time” & “I’ve had Enough” feat. Nicki Richards and “Because Of Your Love” feat. Jamie Principle). He also brought us out to play with him twice at the Def Mix party in Pacha, Ibiza. He was a friend, mentor and supporter. I’ll forever be indebted to him and he’ll always live in my heart.

So lay it on us! Give us the list of all the music you have coming up!

OK twist my arm – lol….here ya go:

Michele Chiavarini “Don’t You Take Your Love” (Groove Junkies Remix – incl. GJs vs Spen Dub – Out now on Quantize

Terry Lex & Groove Junkies ft Alexander Sky “Wicked Game” (A tasty Nu Disco tinged cover of the Chris Isaak Classic – Out now on Erase Records

Groove Junkies ft. Solara “Sunshine 2015” (a MoHo classic w/ remixes from Timmy Vegas & Jaegerosa – coming this Summer on MoreHouse)

Groove Junkies ft. Lee Usher “Live Free & Dance” (a soulful piece de resistance coming this Summer on MoreHouse)

Groove Junkies & Scott K “AfrikAcid” & “LED” (a collection of harder edged tracks geared for the main room – label and release dates TBC)

Al Joseph “Crazy” MoHo (a very cool Indie Dance project coming this Fall on MoreHouse)

Finally, any special gigs coming up that you’d like to tell us about?

Yeah, my better half Solara and I will be performing at a huge 4th of July Block Party @ Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles (bummed that we won’t be able to attend Chosen Few again!!). I’ll be behind the decks and she’ll be performing her classic “Sunshine,” which (as previously mentioned) will be dropping shortly with new remixes. I’m also in the midst of ironing out final details for an upcoming mini tour of Mexico and Asia, as well as a few dates here in the States. Stay tuned…
