Released in 2009, “Back In The Day” was the first collaboration between Dutchican Soul and Andrea Love. Bolstered by two sensual Ralf Gum remixes, “Back In The Day” also marked the first recognizable hit of Dutchican Soul’s career. “We Can Change The World” continues their evolution as one of the top duos for these kinds of club anthems. Andrea Love returns with a spectacular vocal, delivering the message-laden lyrics with confidence and switching to caress every word of the chorus in turn.
Remixes here are presented by Hot Toddy – a big fat bass in the “Come Together Dub” and a mental swing and dizzy gallop of synths in the “Psychedelic Dub.” Both are seriously twisted, and it’s another act of A&R brilliance for Peppermint Jam to pair these up. I’m a fan of Dutchican Soul’s energetic & peak hour “Warehouse Dub” as well.
