For a record more than five years in the making, Hugo LX and DJOKO waste no time shaking this one down. Black Loops’ “Higher” was originally released in 2017, and appears here for the first time on vinyl, having been remastered and with two remixes from two of dance music’s best, doing their best. DJOKO’s mix features samples diced and sliced over breakbeats. Hugo LX is a kind of celestial boogie. Both are ripped for the dance floor. And the original? That’s not bad at all, making this a killer EP.
